SV welcomes The Ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay to County Hall

Today, Sustainable Ventures had the honour of welcoming His Excellency Juan Ernesto Lytton Snead Amarilla, Ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay, and Gloria Snead, Honorary Consul of Paraguay, to our County Hall headquarters in London. We were also joined by William Turner, Founder and COO of LEIFF Natural Capital Solutions, for a day dedicated to global sustainability, innovation, and partnership.

The Ambassador’s visit comes at a pivotal moment for Paraguay, a nation rapidly emerging as a beacon for sustainability and forest management. With nearly 100% of its electricity generated from hydroelectric power - thanks to the world-renowned Itaipú and Yacyretá plants - Paraguay stands as a global leader in clean energy and a rising hub for green hydrogen production and sustainable investment.

Our CEO, Andrew Wordsworth, Commercial Director, Joseph Seal-Driver, and Senior Venture Associate, Philip Hunt, had the privilege of sharing Sustainable Ventures’ mission and introducing the Ambassador to some of the pioneering companies we support, including Enso, SatVu, Open Hydro, UNDO, and Earthworm. These innovators are at the forefront of sustainable mobility, earth observation for climate action, supply chain transformation, and decarbonisation for climate mitigation and of fresh water systems.

Ambassador Snead’s vision - shared by the UN Development Programme- is to position Paraguay as a model for balancing economic growth with environmental stewardship. By attracting British investment into Paraguay’s green economy, particularly in carbon markets, biodiversity conservation, and circular economy projects, there is a unique opportunity to align Paraguay’s natural resources with the UK’s expertise in decarbonisation, conservation, and urban resilience.

We are inspired by Paraguay’s commitment to global environmental initiatives and look forward to exploring new partnerships that drive sustainable impact across continents.
