In five years Chris Morris has turned an idea for an electric car club into the first crowd-funded investment exit in the UK, expanding E-Car Club to deliver over 50,000 member journeys and a fleet of 100 electric vehicles. The judges praised Morris for his innovative business model, effective execution, and commitment to tackling both environmental challenges and transport poverty.
Last week, Powervault closed their third extremely successfully Crowdcube funding round with the final figure coming in at £1.5m, doubling the £750k target and taking their total funding to £2.5m. Powervaults current success comes as no surprise as they overfunded in their first ever round by 50% and even gained Crowdcube's ‘Fastest Successful Crowdfunding Round’ & ‘Best Start-Up' awards in 2014.

Sustainable Bridges is delighted to announce successfully securing social investment from the Mayor of London as part of the High Street Fund. The award, amounting to £18,000, will be used for the development of a Makerspace. Sustainable Bridges’ is one of 20 local projects to receive a pledge of support from The Mayor of London, in total amounting to £285,000, as part of the £9 million High Street Fund.
