Now more than ever, we need innovative,
low carbon solutions to heat our homes.

Our partnership with the Ebico Trust is designed to boost growth for startups working on innovative home heating solutions that won’t cost us the planet.

Build. with Ebico is a programme for innovators working to solve the big challenges in domestic heating. The programme will support you with tailored support from venture-building and innovation experts, alongside a £10,000 grant to help scale your solution.

Programme overview

The programme is divided into 3 Support Blocks, each giving you an opportunity for further funding and business development and support. Successful applicants are guaranteed a spot in the first Support Block, and will then pitch for further support at each stage.

 Innovation Bootcamp

The Innovation Bootcamp is a 4-day bootcamp aimed at exploring value creation, validating business models, exploring customer validation, and learning from thought leaders in the affordable, sustainable home-heating sector to leverage the learnings into your business.

Stage 1 Support

The tailored support at this stage will focus on pitch readiness and further validating your idea to get you ready for investment.

Participation in this stage allows you a stipend of £4,000 per company.

Stage 2 Support

In Stage 2, the tailored support is focused on supporting you to achieve any next milestones for your business such as go-to-market strategies, governance, investment readiness, and more

Participation in this stage allows you a grant of £12,000 per company.

To be eligible for the programme, you should be:

  • A UK-registered business

  • Innovating in low carbon/clean tech home heating solutions

  • Addressing the issues of affordability & sustainability

We’re ideally looking for candidates with:

  • 2 founders

  • Indications of early traction/technical validation of the solution

Applications are now open and will close on 25th October 2023 at midnight. Applications will include a video pitch, and be assessed on a rolling basis

About the funder:

The Ebico Trust, a registered charity, believes that for the UK to achieve its transition to a net zero carbon economy, sustainable living must be affordable to all households – and not just be a lifestyle choice for the better-off. Key to delivering its affordability is innovation. To encourage innovation, and so promote sustainable living for all, we nurture, encourage and support entrepreneurs with new product ideas and service concepts which will make Net Zero choices affordable for lower-income families. To help fund this ongoing effort to support innovation, the Trust hopes that successful participants in the ‘Build with Ebico’ programme will wish to make a voluntary donation of equity to be held on behalf of the charity.
