Powervault - Wins Innovator of the Year 2015

Powervault, Sustainable Ventures' domestic energy storage solution was awarded BusinessGreen's Innovator of the Year and Solar Innovation of the Year at the inaugural Technology Awards.

The inaugural BusinessGreen Technology Awards were held to celebrate the most exciting and innovative clean technologies in the UK today.

From the most passionate environmental campaigner to the most vocal critic of climate action there is near universal agreement the development of new clean technologies is critical to the success of efforts to tackle climate change and other environmental challenges.

Sustainable Ventures was proud to see Powervault recognised, not once, but twice amongst the winners.

The solar innovation of the year category was open to any solar energy technology or related technology that promises to boost the performance, cost-effectiveness, and/or appeal of solar energy products. As such the winner of this award is not a solar technology per se, but a storage system that promises to extend both the reach and financial viability of solar arrays. The judges were hugely impressed by Powervault’s innovative, integrated, and crowd-funded approach to energy storage, not to mention the positive impact it could have on a the wider solar market.

For BusinessGreen, Powervault's success resulted from the potentially game-changing innovation behind its crowd-funded energy storage system. For years, storage has been hailed as the missing piece of the jigsaw for a genuinely low carbon energy system. And now this British start-up is helping to turn the vision of cost-effective domestic energy storage into a reality.
